Podczas soundcheck'u w Wenecji Leonard zaprezentował piosenkę, którą później określił jako "Blues - work on progress".
W czasie tej próby był kapitalny moment -  Leonard Cohen przerwał śpiew w chwili, kiedy rozległ się dźwięk dzwonów bazyliki.
